Resurgence has launched Weather Together, a free print-and-play collaborative board game that helps communities, practitioners, educators and decision makers explore climate adaptation through shared decision-making.

Developed from Resurgence’s participatory methods and first prototyped at the Understanding Risk Field Lab 2024, the game transforms complex climate concepts into an engaging learning experience where players work together to prepare for climate risks before disasters happen.

Rather than simply communicating information, Weather Together encourages discussion, collaboration and anticipatory action. Players experience the difficult choices communities face, balancing limited resources, responding to climate warnings and building resilience together. The game reflects lessons from Resurgence’s DARAJA programmes across Africa and Asia, where participatory approaches have consistently shown that people learn best by doing.
Designed for community workshops, NGOs, governments, schools, universities and researchers, the first edition is available as a free Print & Play download, making it accessible to organisations and communities worldwide.

Weather Together was created by Resurgence with support from WISER Africa & Asia-Pacific, the UK Met Office and the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), and developed in collaboration with Crossed Design, the Atlantic Council Climate Resilience Center, and the Understanding Risk Field Lab.
As climate risks continue to grow, innovative tools that help people learn, collaborate and act together are becoming increasingly important. Weather Together is one contribution towards making climate adaptation more engaging, inclusive and accessible for communities around the world.
