Weather Together is an interactive climate adaptation board game that helps communities, practitioners, educators and decision makers explore real-world climate challenges through collaborative play.
Using realistic scenarios, players work together to make decisions, balance limited resources and prepare for climate risks before disasters happen. Inspired by Resurgence’s participatory workshop methods incubated at the Understanding Risk Fieldlab 2024, the game transforms complex climate concepts into practical conversations that build resilience, confidence and hope.

Why this game?
Climate change affects every community differently. Preparing for it requires more than information, it requires conversation, collaboration and action.

From field lab to global tool
Weather Together grew from Resurgence’s participatory climate resilience work and was further developed through collaboration with experts, designers and practitioners.
The game draws on methods including scenario planning, personas, simulations, collaborative decision-making and design thinking principles.
Its development has included testing with practitioners, academics, civil society organisations and National Meteorological Services across Africa and Asia, helping refine gameplay and maximise learning outcomes.
