Resurgence joins UN-backed Race To Resilience as Transformation Partner
Resurgence is proud to announce that it has become a Transformation Partner of the UN-backed Race to Resilience.
It’s award-winning City – Community Forecasting and Early Warning Service and Partnership, DARAJA, is one of seven transformation initiatives that are being highlighted by the Race to Resilience for their breakthrough qualities.
Launched at the 2021 Climate Adaptation Summit, the Race to Resilience campaign seeks to catalyse a step-change in global ambition for climate resilience, putting people and nature first in pursuit of a resilient world where we don’t just survive climate shocks and stresses but thrive in spite of them.
All Race to Resilience Partners and Members are committed to the same overarching goal: building the resilience of 4 billion people from groups and communities who are vulnerable to climate risks, by 2030.
“Building resilience is an essential element of global climate action, especially for communities most affected by the climate crisis. This isn’t about ambition for later, it’s about delivering now – and the movement is only growing.”
Nigel Topping, High Level Champion for Climate Action, COP26
Resurgence CEO, Mark Harvey says, “This is a major opportunity for Resurgence to contribute to a critically needed global campaign to elevate investment – policy, technological and financial – into the climate resilience space.
DARAJA has shown that it is indeed possible to make climate resilience concrete, resonant with communities, measurable and, over time, scalable. We look forward to joining forces with the community of innovators that the Race to Resilience has brought together.
Collectively Resurgence will work with the Race to Resilience Campaign to refine and grow our solutions, and support the emerging economy and practice area, in resilience and adaptation services, that needs to develop in order to meet the climate resilience challenge.”
